Northfield Helps Hungry

Tuesday, April 25th, 2006

CAC is thrilled to announce that the community of Northfield has helped us again surpass our fundraising goal by raising $72,019 and collecting 22,455 pounds of food in the Minnesota FoodShare Campaign! These donations will keep the CAC Food Shelf operational and well stocked throughout the year.

Through our work at the CAC we get to watch how the community’s donations impact the lives of the people who are served here. We are proud to live in a community that responds compassionately to issues of hunger and allows us to distribute a bounty of nutritious food to those in need.

We are grateful, says Jim Blaha, executive director, for this community’s generosity. Thank you!

IBM Donated File Server

CAC is the grateful recipient of a new X226 Server for the computer system through the On Demand Community Grants Program of IBM Company in Rochester.

The step into new technology comes at just the right time. The agency has operated with a used machine for its network for 10 years and even though the network has given the staff operational strength, the server was starting to show it is overworked.

Thank you to IBM for their community grants program.
